My subject matter is primarily nature, whether it is a traditional landscape or a wildlife painting. However, I do venture into still life if the subject captures my curiosity. Ultimately, my inspiration comes from capturing light and colour. I enjoy pairing both realism and a loose painting style while pushing the boundaries of colour saturation and contrast.
I use watercolour, ink and white gouache on paper, to capture light, colour, and life. For me, watercolour requires this magical balance of control and embracing the unpredictable. Much like life. Painting allows me to pay tribute to the natural world and reminds me to slow down and to live in the moment.
